Why We Connect Every Site to Google Search Console From Day One

July 26, 2026

A huge number of small business websites go live, get a trickle of visitors, and nobody involved actually knows why — or why not. There’s no visibility into what people searched to find the site, which pages Google can actually see properly, or whether something’s quietly broken in a way no human visitor would ever bother reporting.

The industry default is to set this up “later,” usually the first time someone asks a question nobody can answer — “how are we doing in search?” — and there’s nothing to look back on, because tracking only started the day someone finally asked.

Google Search Console is free, and it answers exactly those questions from the very first day a site is live: what people are actually searching to find you, which pages are indexed, and what’s technically wrong before it costs you real traffic. Paired with GA4, it’s the difference between guessing why a site isn’t converting and actually being able to see it — the same forecasting instinct behind our Revenue Engineering page, Forecasting & Reporting: a dashboard that only shows what already happened is far less useful than one that lets you see a problem coming.

There’s no reason to wait three months to start building that picture. It’s part of every build here, set up before launch, not after someone finally asks.

FAQ

We already have a website without this set up — can it still be added? Yes, at any point — though the earlier it’s connected, the more historical data you’ll have to actually compare against later.
