Don’t pay for the same customer twice.
Filling out a lead form once does not win a lead. The second or third time they see your company is what gives you the edge — and the customer who bought once is the cheapest sale you will ever make again. Sequences do that follow-up automatically, by email and by WhatsApp, and never forget.
You already own a list. Almost nobody works it.
Every business has two lists it paid for and is not using: the enquiry that went quiet, and the customer who bought once and never came back. Both are cheaper to reach than the next stranger — and both are revenue you have already paid for.
When the follow-up runs automatically, marketing stops being a constant struggle to convert only new leads. Every incoming lead is kept warm until your team responds. Prospects stay informed and top of mind. Existing customers naturally think of you first for their next purchase. That shifts the whole strategy — from chasing strangers every month to adding new clients to a warm base you already have.
Why retention pays — Revenue Engineering →
The enquiry that went quiet
They told you they were interested. Somebody called once, the quote went out, and nobody called again. You paid to meet them and collected nothing.
The customer that forgot about you
They bought, they were happy, and they have not bought since. You only ever sold to them once — and you have their details.
Nobody decides to leave. They just stop thinking about you.
There is no moment where a customer resigns. There is only a stretch of silence that gets easier to keep — and a sequence is what fills it.
The quote is on the desk, the job is fresh, and one message would still land.
They have not chosen anybody else yet, but you are no longer the obvious answer.
They found a company that followed up, and bought from them instead.
To win them back now you pay for them again — and you have to win their trust from scratch.
Not everybody on the list is worth a message
The instinct is to go back to everyone with the same message. That is the lead quality mistake. The ones worth going back to are the enquiries who look like the people who buy, and the customers whose next purchase is genuinely due.
And not with a discount every time
If a discount is the only reason you ever get back in touch, it becomes the only thing your customers wait for. Being top of mind builds trust — and trust is worth more to revenue than a discount.
The right message, at the right moment, automatically
A sequence is a series of messages that fires on its own when something happens — a form comes in, a quote goes out, a purchase is made, ninety days pass. We map the journeys for your business, then build them.
Lead journeys — enquiry to customer
- Instant reply. The enquiry is acknowledged within a minute, by email and WhatsApp, with what happens next.
- Kept warm. Until your team responds, the lead hears from you — a case study, a “here is what to expect”, a direct line.
- Quote follow-up. Two days, seven days, fourteen days — “any questions?”, then the reason to decide.
- Still interested? The enquiry that went quiet, brought back before quiet becomes lost.
Customer journeys — first sale to the next one
- Thank you and what’s next. After the purchase — how to get the most from it, who to call.
- The review ask. Timed to when they are happiest, routed to Google.
- Next purchase due. Reminded at the moment it makes sense for what they bought — service, refill, renewal, season.
- The weekly touch. News, specials, useful things — so you stay the obvious answer.

Tell us who enquired and never bought, and who bought and never came back. We will show you what it is worth.

What sequences work with
Straight answers
Isn’t this just email marketing?
Email is one channel it uses. The point is not sending more emails — it is noticing who has gone quiet and reaching them the right way, by email, WhatsApp or a retargeting advert, before they have fully moved on.
Won’t past customers find repeated contact annoying?
Generic, frequent contact gets annoying. Relevant contact, timed to what they actually bought and when, usually does not — the difference is a system that knows their history, not a blanket list everybody gets added to.
We don’t have contact details for most past sales. Can this work?
Yes. Sequences run wherever contact details exist, and we connect your website forms so every new enquiry is captured from now on. Retargeting through the ad platforms covers the people you cannot email.
How long before it shows in revenue?
Lead follow-up moves within weeks — the enquiries are already coming in. Reselling to past customers follows your buying cycle: if people buy every few months you will see it inside a quarter; if it is annual, the first honest read is a year out. What you see early is who opens, who replies, who comes back to the site.
Is WhatsApp allowed for this?
Yes, through WhatsApp Business with consent and opt-out handled properly, and within POPIA. We set it up so you stay on the right side of both.
Who writes the messages?
We do, in your voice, from the same interviews we use for everything else. You approve them before anything goes out.
Tell us who enquired and never bought.
Let us help you build the client base where you benefit from both new and existing clients. Your business deserves to build its customer base, not replace it every month with a new set of leads.
